Where should we stay in Dec Galeon Playa or Nazaret Apartments ?

Asked by: 15th November 2013 , ,

Can’t decide where to stay in December. Want to go self catering and have narrowed it down to Galeon Playa and Nazaret apartments although the Sirocco serenity apartments look quite nice but a bit of a hike home in the evening if we’ve been to the square and the Neptuno don’t get a good write up. We like a sea view which we can get from the Galeon but the Nazaret looks a little bit more welcoming. All info on any of the above mentioned accomodation would be welcomed.

Tracy – Can’t comment on Nazaret as havent stayed there but we go every January and have used the Galeon afew times – great location but be aware not every apartment will offer you the sea -view – same with most I assume.

We tried the Neptuno lst year and they were fine – basic but clean – yes – perhaps in need of a re-furb – but for us – given the amount of time we actually spend in it – they were fine – and the sea view of a morning was just great.

Tracy. We have stayed at the Nazaret twice now. Central location, basic apartments but everything we needed and clean.
We are also going again at the beginning of December

    Hi Tracey,

it also depends what other considerations you may have, how much time will you spend in the complex, etc.

We used to stay at Los Zocos when our daughter was younger but it is a bit too far for some people to keep walking to and from (especially if you’ve been on Playa Bastian for the day) so that may rule the Sirocco out for you. We did it plenty of times though and it is quite enjoyable to have a lazy stroll back in the evening.

The last few times we’ve stayed at the Galeon Playa. Location good, sea views good and the rooms have enough in them for us. You can be on the beach easily within 5 minutes of leaving your room.

The GP will give you the sea view which you are looking for and whilst it is quite a big road outside, we didn’t really notice any noise.

As Joe says, it also depends on how much time you’ll actually spend in your room. I haven’t read the write ups for the Neptuno but if all you do is sleep there and are out for most of the day, then give it a go.

The Nazaret is nearer the square (less walking), but no sea view. It always seems quiet to me, but I’ve never stayed there.

Win the lottery Tracy and try all of them 🙂 Wherever you stay, you know you’ll enjoy CT.

    Wendy

Hi, I have stayed at nazaret appts. We found them to be very clean. Cleaners came with towel change 3times per week. Also fresh bread rolls hung on your front door every morning. Staff were very friendly and we requested and got a top floor apt. Which we prefer but beware if you have difficulty with stairs. The bed was extremely comfortable but the sofa less so. TV is almost useless with no uk channels. Free wi fi. The big plus is that the pool is heated and I think that this is a big bonus in the winter though it didn’t stop me from swimming in Jabillo during January. Do not confuse these apts. with mansion nazaret which is, in my opinion inferior. The reception desk will be very helpful if you ring them direct. The cleaners even did our washing up one morning as they arrived just after we had finished breakfast.

Stayed in both and you’ll have a good time no matter which you choose.

Nazaret look a bit prettier, have more plants trees etc, and are slightly better equiped. Galeon has a better pool and is more secure.

Locations of both are fine and both TV systems are poor. We’ve found the staff at both very friendly.

To be honest there’s nothing between them, it’s down to personal choice. I’m just jealous I’m not going back for a few months.

Thank you everyone for your answers they were very helpful. We have stayed in CT many times so know the area well. I think we will give the Nazaret a try as we have never stayed here and they have a heated pool which as Kevin says could be invaluable in winter months. See you Dec 7th if your there.

Looking forward to my stay at the galeonplaya this thursday for the 8th time in 5 years, being a regular customer i get very well looked after.I expect that i will be given a sea view in one of the best rooms(no extra charge). It seems strange that in this hotel i can stay and pay less for the room than i did in a b&b in the uk 40 years ago.I love the galeon :0)

Been to Gp the last five years looking forward to being there next week again for four weeks.
Lovely central location sufficient equipment in the room, plenty of places to eat in CT.
Sea view from some rooms both front and back. Will probably book again next year even though we have not had this year there yet.

We are staying at the nazaret as we have done 20plus time over the last 7years we find it the best location of all if you take a 1st floor apartment you can see the sea it is also has the bus stop right outside and the square is opposite .

For anyone new to this site who may be contemplating going to Costa Teguise, I think that, having read these last few comments, it would fill them with confidence that they will enjoy it.

I can’t believe that so many people have been so many times – I don’t know of anywhere else like this.

    So true Wendy.

If you go to a nice place, you’ll meet nice people, and if you meet nice people in a nice place you’ll have a great holiday.

And if you have a great holiday you’ll go back and back and back !

I was introduced to CT by my late wife (dont think I am an old man because she passed away at 41 only 3 years ago and I am not that much older than her). We went every year at least once and I have continued the theme with my daughter (she 10 now) and we absolutely love it. Last years we have stopped at GP because of its location (really good) and as Frank says seems quite secure and enclosed (single parent syndrome i suppose). Anyway go and enjoy and you will love it wherever you go but please dont go all inclusive. get out into the bars and restaurants support the locals and trust me they will welcome and remember you.

It was our first time staying in Costa Teguise but not our first visit there my partner used to work 1 week a year over at Club La Santa so have always stayed over there, but this year she was not working there so we decided to stay in CT we had on past trips to Lanzarote and had looked at the GP in the past with a view to one day hopefully staying there and liked what we saw.

I would recommend the GP just came back from spending 7 days there, we are looking already at booking a 10 day stay early next year at the GP
