Not worth bothering about fitting new seals , chuck it out and buy yourself a brand new fridge from Comet or Currys they are as cheap as chips now.

No comet or Currys over here in Lanzarote!!!!! And chips are lot’s cheaper then frodge freezers over here.

If you don’t want to chuck it, Google it, the make the model and see what the seals will cost, you never know could save you a packet.

I have googled them and only cost 20 odd pound in the UK. Can’t seem to find anyone to deliver them to me out here… And Thats why i asked if anyone OVER here knows where to get them locally.

Just done a job at a customers and there seals were passed it on the fridge they had a fitter come out to it and he fitted a new door as the seals are part of the door took 2 minutes, is this the way they do it now ?

I have looked on line and the seals just pull out and then you push the new ones in. But just don’t know if i can get replacement ones on the island. Can get the correct ones in the UK but they won’t post them over to me 🙁

Anne – there is a shop in Arrecife that sells replacement parts for all sorts of domestic appliances. We bought a new door hinge for our Balay fridge there but they have to order the parts and then you have to go back and collect them. It’s not easy to find as it’s round the back streets of the Argana Alta area. If you’re interested I can see if I can find the address as I’ve probably still got our receipt somewhere

That sounds good. If you can find out the street name or name of the shop it would be great . Thanks Sue

Hi Anne, I eventually found the receipt so here are the details:

    Juan Morales Ortega
    Escardillo 81 – Argana Alta
    35500 Arrecife
    Tel: 928802273 / 928816539
    email: j.moralesortega@hotmail.com

I don’t think they speak English and I think they close mid-afternoon so it’s probably best to go in the morning. Maybe you could email them to see if they can help. I’m pretty sure they will be able to get it for you as I know several people that have used the shop for different things and they’ve always got what they wanted. Good luck!

Maybe a good idea to take the old seals with you?
