    Everywhere is much the same. Unless you want to change many thousands, the differences amount to just a few pounds. Paying by credit card tends to give you a good rate as the banks use money market rates rather than tourist rates when converting currencies. This method is only good if your card provider does not make overseas charges. The Post Office is currently offering 1.19.

    in uk i only got 1.14 for cash in the post office/coop shop

    I got €1.20 in Thomas cook last week, thats the best rate I have seen so far 🙂

    it was €1.17 in Tesco yesterday – but everytime I go to Lanzarote the rates are always at least a cent more in the Indian shops

    hi maria, i just got a rate of 1.19 at first choice. usually u can get it at a cent more at the resort but not anything sugnificant more in terms of money, have a good holiday.

    use your card DCH to pay for your hotel bill dont want to be running about with all that cash.
    Your card will get you the best exchange rate.

    Also remember a lot of companys/banks charge you for changing money so you are not really getting 1.19 / 1.20 or whatever.
