What are the best hotels in Costa Teguise?

Asked by: 30th December 2012 ,

We come over three/ four times a year and always stay at Santa Rose or El Guarapo, this year we want something a little more, maybe half board and a little bit of luxury more within CT itself.

Please help, any recommendations welcome

Have a look at the Teguise Playa. Have stayed here many times never been disappointed. Ignore the bad reviews, lovely hotel, friendly staff and spectacular views from your balcony. This hotel is also in the centre of the resort and offers all board choices from room only to all inclusive.

Tracy, do all the rooms have a fridge? must have my Chardonay cold LOL

  5. Tracy R on Dec 31, 2012

Hi Barry yes all the rooms we’ve stayed in have had a fridge. They’re not very big but big enough for a couple of bottles of Chardonnay. Don’t forget to take your corkscrew.

avoid galeon playa, sands beach is quite good but book through owners direct website as sands tends to rip direct bookings off? i.e you will end up in an villa far away from beach front in poor condition and only when you complain they will move you! by booking direct with owners you can save 70% and know which villa you are in and what it looks like.Sands customer service is very poor but the place is lovely.

We have stayed at the Galeon Playa 5 times ,it’s not the Ritz and admit it does need updating but you can’t fault the location or Reception staff, any problems are dealt with straight away.did think that on this last visit that the cleaning wasn’t up to scratch, beds a bit lumpy but will still go back there next visit to CT.all we use it for is bed and shower.Have stayed at other apts but still think the Galeon the best value .

Tracy the Cork crew will take a corkscrew.

Excuse the pun, We are from Cork Ireland!!!!

Stayed in Galeon playa many times,3 in 2012,booked again in may, never had a problem,as i go self catering.€224 for 10 nights, and i pay the hotel with cash.Andy why have you rubbished the hotel?

The Wife and I have never had any problems at the Galeon Playa, Ok I have heard about people who say they do, but then I have heard of people staying at other hotels saying bad things about where there staying, and then people say nothing wrong.

We stay at the Galeon Playa when we can but oftern we have to stay over at Club La Santa due to my wifes Swiming Training camps she takes each year there

Have stayed at most of the resorts / hotels over the last 25 yrs in CT and I’m going to stay at The Tequise Playa (on my own !!) from tomorrow. Have stayed there a few times now and love it’s central locaction. The food is very good and the views are even better. I’ve gone for the AI option this time as I did not think it was worth worrying about the extra cost between B&B / H.B or AI. Time you add a few drinks around the pool or bar, its not worth thinking about, although Im staying AI, I will still be visiting some of the many resturants/bars for lunch or a evening meal, that my wife and I have been regulars at over the years.
The Oasis is a better all round Hotel, but its location is a problem.

Decisions??? a few replies on here are making me think more of my options, I am not a great fan of HB when staying for Two weeks. I have never done it but I imagine it would get a bit boring eventually!

When we stay SC we usually went to the 4* Lanzarote Village in Los pocillos twice a week for the Buffet Dinner. it was tremendous value at 12 Euro for all you can eat and did i eat all i could lol.
Now i am curious, do Sands allow outsiders to their dinner and if so what do they charge?
A mixture of dining in the sands and local Restaurants would be a much better holiday experience.

as an ‘ex’ owner at Sands (Lanzarote Beach Club) we still go in there for meals on occasions (nothing special) I’m sure they dont care whose money they take. Theres far better quality & value outside of the resort !!
Was disscussing with the wife this evening in the Pub where I was going to eat even though I’m on AI, and we both agreed 2 evening meals each @ Maritas & Neptuno’s over the seven days leaving 3 meals in the hotel (we know what we like) lol
Having said that, the wife and daughter are hoping to out out together later in the year and would chose to stay at the Sands on SC, sorting their own breakfast and enjoying the resturants around the resturants

i own a villa at sands beach and we love it……..ive stayed at a few places and our place is homely and love with a big fridge for champers !!!!

  14. Barry Dunne on Jan 04, 2013

On Trip Advisor most people praised the Sands resort but some were less then complimentary about the the food!
We have Booked SC there and will try what sounds like wonderful Restaurants as recommended by our posters here.
    If they are terrible,
    I will find ye
    I will come for ye
    I will **** ye. LOL
I loved these lines from the film Taken

Teguise Playa is fab and in a lovely position. small sheltered beach in front of hotel with rock pools for the kids. Sand dunes to sunbathe in, warm sea , great for swimming.

Have also been to the Beatriz, beautiful hotel, all rooms get the sun most of the day. About 10 minutes walk to beach, but there used to be a free bus.

Stayed at the Tequise Playa many times i would def recomend this, the location is great and the food is pretty good too for aI, rooms are clean and all have a beautiful sea view just dont leave your towel on the sunbed before 9am because it will be removed by the night security but its ok if you are actually with the towels.

  17. Leslie Miller on Jan 09, 2013

Last full day at Tequise Playa and its been perfect. Food has been good but like all resorts, can be a bit repetitive. Would use again unless all the family was coming, then it would have to be Sands

we love Sands Beach, but always go S/C. with Monarch or Jet2.com holidays, Have a superior Apt thou, they are better. uor 5th visit in Feb booked for 3 weeks,, cant wait
