If you are speaking about “Pueblo Marinero” Square, just copy/paste these coordinates : 28.997143,-13.49142 in google map and you will find it.

Thank you Michael. We will be staying near Arrieta and I think Costa Teguise is the nearest bigger place.

    Hi Foxfire,

Yes, Pueblo Marinero is definitely a hive of activity. You’ll be spoiled for choice ……… once in, you may never want to leave 🙂

Have a great holiday, whenever that may be.

thank you so much Wendy… looking forward to my stay.

Hi, just to let you know, we stay in CT every year for approx. 3 – 4 months and our favourite beach is Arrieta and the tapas bar at the back of the beach is one of the best on the island. So go to CT and enjoy but don’t overlook the nicest swimming beach and tapas bar on your doorstep.

  6. Foxfire on Jun 02, 2013

Thanks Kevin. I guess you mean the blue and white place that looks like a greek taverna. We love that little place. Its more where to go and eat etc., in CT. We like cheap and cheerful but not loud music. thanks again

No, not blue and white but steel awning right behind the beach next to the first aid post. In CT I recommend las Maretas . Service can be very slow but family run, excellent food and very reasonable prices. the restaurant is tucked away in a corner in centr commercial Maretas by the post office in CT . You may need to book but beware if you want to eat at7.00-7.30pm so do the rest of the world. Go at lunch time or after 8.30 pm and you will enjoy a lovely meal at a very reasonable price. Your host will be Domingo but don’t be fooled , he isn’t open on Sunday. Phone 0034-928 59 00 78 to book. hope you enjoy.

I agree with Kevin you will get a lovely reasonable priced meal at las Maretas food really good but you can’t be in a rush as only the owner taking orders, serving food and drinks would recommend going but as Kevin said you need to book.

  12. Foxfire on Jun 03, 2013

Thanks for that Marian. Found your facebook page David. I live just down the road from you.

Las Maretas is ok if you have time to spare. I recommend La Bohemia which is situated on the corner opposite the Las Maretas complex. Best steaks in Costa Teguise.

  14. Marian Walker on Jun 04, 2013

If your going to Las Maretas you need to be able to spend mos of the night there as service is very slow bu tit is chilled, must give La Bohemia a go, do you need to book?

  15. Tom Iles on Jun 04, 2013

Not normally Marian but it does get very busy at weekends. A lot of locals use it which is always a good sign. If you like meat, try the mixed grill but they also do a very good selection of unusual tapas.

  16. Marian Walker on Jun 04, 2013

Thanks Tom will try in November when we are there. Just love Costa Teguise so many places to eat and then chill in the square.

Try Patio Canario for tapas – on Plaza de Pueblo (Lovely little shaded square). Not your usual tapas and quite a lot of ‘fishy’ ones. Its on our list for next time.

thank you everyone for your help.

  19. Joe Strummer on Jun 10, 2013

Patio Canario was closed – and tbh – looked derelict when we were there in January – can anyone confirm?

  20. Sue on Jun 10, 2013

Patio Canario has been closed since around Autumn time last year. The main El Patio restaurant in Pueblo Marinero is still there

  21. Tom Iles on Jun 10, 2013

Some confusion here I think. My son, who is a chef, ate at Patio Canario in March and loved the place. There are also entries for it on Trip Advisor this year.

  22. Marian Walker on Jun 10, 2013

We were there in March and it was closed El Patio was open but I have to say the last few meal we had there were not great. Also if you have young children I would not go to El Patio my daughter and her husband ate there with their 2 year old and did not really feel welcome.

  23. Tom Iles on Jun 10, 2013

I agree Marion, El Patio is ok but is rather quick turnaround and not the place to go for a nice leisurely meal.

  24. Tom Iles on Jun 10, 2013

    Sorry, I meant Marian.

    • Marian Walker on Jun 11, 2013

Don’t worry about that Tom. Think this web site is great have been goin to Lanzarote for so long now normally twice per year ( 15 visits and booked for November and March). what I like is there is always somewhere that we have not tried for dinner and it is good to get views Trip Advisor is good but I feel this site is more down to earth honest reports.

  25. Wendy Middleton on Jun 11, 2013

We ate at Patio Canario when we were there in May. Definitely open. If you look on Trip Advisor (as Tom mentions) you will also see some lovely photos of the eating area in the courtyard..

It shares the shaded courtyard with ‘Casa Matilde’ – lovely ‘proper’ cakes and coffee.

We too ate at El Patio in the main area of the square. Didn’t feel rushed though as others may have been.

  26. Tom Iles on Jun 11, 2013

I agree Marian. There are always new restaurants to explore along with your old favourites. Having said that, I’ve never eaten at Patio Canario because the menu with photos always put me off. I assume from your comment about the shaded courtyard Wendy that the big rubber tree is getting back to normal. It’s a huge tree and they gave it a real haircut a year or so ago and the poor thing looked very sad.

  27. Wendy Middleton on Jun 12, 2013

Tom – the rubber tree is looking very healthy now. It is massive – I wonder how old it is.

Don’t worry about the menu with photos (yes that does make it sound bad but please don’t be put off) – the tapas are a bit different and all I can do is describe them as ‘posh tapas’ 🙂 I don’t eat seafood and there were too many fishy ones on their menu for me but my husband had a selection and really enjoyed them.

It was quite busy when we went and everyone was commenting on how they were enjoying their meals. Give it a try next time you are there – another one to add to your list.
