Asked by: 12th July 2015

Does anyone know the prices for hiring sunbeds and parasols on Las Cucharas beach?  Hubby has a bad back!  Thanks.

Hi yes, I was there in march and what I remember is 2 beds and a parasol is €12, hope this helps.

Hi, that’s not too bad when needs must. I wonder if they do a bogof for a family, haha! Thanks.

That’s dearer than hiring a small car
    ROBBERS

Good point David. I expect that’s why most of them are not used.

If you only want 1 sunbed it was 8euros, and yes you can hire a small car for a week cheaper that 2 sunbeds for a week

I agree it is way too expensive and also preferred the beach without them, but I’m at a loss as my hubby has a back problem and we are staying at the Galeon Playa where, apparently unless we reserve the sunbeds before 6am, we won’t get one!!

we have never needed to reserve sunbeds at the Galeon Playa, I hope this is not the case when we go out in October

    • Tom Iles on Jul 14, 2015

That’s because you are down there at 5am Steve.

      • Steve p on Jul 15, 2015

I will not be getting up at 5am just for a sunbed as I get up that time during he week if there are none so be it, I can live with out the sunbeds its the her who can’t.

Summer school holidays! Wonder if the Chinese shops sell fold-up sunbeds?

Never heard of any problem getting a sunbed at Galeon Playa.

Sometimes people say no reserving of sunbeds these days anyway. We went to Menorca recently – someone reserved some sunbeds and the rep came along, took all the towels off and put them behind reception 🙂

Hope you have a lovely holiday Nicola x

Thanks Wendy, we absolutely love the Island there are so many beautiful places to see. Do you happen to know which blocks in GP have the refurbished rooms? Thanks x

Sorry Nicola, I don’t – but they do look nice don’t they?

If no one comes along to help, try emailing the Galeon Playa. I’m sure they will help you x

Ok thanks, I’ll do that, I’ve always found the reception staff to be exceptionally helpful. x

Was at the Galeon Playa in June. the sunbeds were stacked up and chained overnight, apart from Sundays, and unlocked around 9.30/9/45am. So no, you don’t need to get up at 6am, although some crafty people were putting their bags against a parasol before the sunbeds were available! We had emailed prior to going, asking for a re-furbished room on the top floor, which we got, but blowed if I can remember the number!!!!

That’s correct they chain them up at night we saw that back in October last year,

  12. Nicola on Jul 23, 2015

Hi Jackie, I’m going to email GP next week but do you happen to know which block you were in. It’s just we got put in the corner room next to baggage storage area last time which was really noisy (and old). Definitely won’t be up at dawn for a sunbed, haha, whats that all about, its my holidays! x

  13. Steve p on Jul 23, 2015

I think that’s the worst room you can be in next to the baggage storage area its the one part of the GP every one passes and with people on early flights leaving with there cases making a lot of noise . we have asked for Block E6 or E8 been in E7 before but was not far from the baggage storage

  14. Jackie Wardle on Jul 23, 2015

    Nicola

Neither I or my husband can remember the block or room number. However, directions – right out of reception, round the corner, passed the bar, lift to the top floor. From the lift turn right, and second door! We overlooked the supermarket across the road. Not a lot of help, am I!

  15. Steve p on Jul 23, 2015

Block E6 faces the children play area E8 is the next one opposite the bar E7 faces the main Pool

I can never remember the room number too just the blocks

Thanks Jackie & Steve, I’ve got the hotel’s plan in front of me so I know which blocks you mean. Hope you don’t think I’m being fussy, but the ‘baggage room’ holiday was extremely noisy, in fact I could have been first first out for the sunbeds every morning!!
