Stupid answers ?

Asked by: 28th October 2013

This is really a geat page for people going to Lanzarote for the first time or people like me have been so many times I have lost count. What I cannot understand is why people put on such stupid answers. The purpose is to help and advise people going to Lanzarote not give answers that are condescending. Although I/ we have been so many times it is good to get other peoples views.

It probably goes hand in hand with the stupid questions I think we see more of them

If people don’t really know the Island what they think is a sensible question might not seem so sensible to someone like you and me that have been going for a lot of years. I rally think it is a shame how some of the comment/answers are being answered. I have found this site helpful even after how long we have been coming to the island

They do say that there is no silly question however I think that some of the silly answers are given when yet another question is asked about the weather, price of the taxi from the airport and suchlike….

I would hope that any newcomer to the site feels that they actually get a proper answer to their question.

Sometimes we do get a bit distracted and throw in other things so go off on a bit of a tangent with false teeth etc ( 🙂 ) but on the whole, the original question is answered.

Yes, we do get a ‘bit giddy’ and some replies spark of a heated debate but I still come back every day and look at the live web-cam………..

Wendy. 11.15 and still dark in Costa Teguise according to the web cam. Good viewing.

Tom, I chose my words carefully when I said ‘live’ web cam. I always look at the beach bar one but having said that, it was frozen before.

      • Wendy Middleton on Oct 29, 2013

‘Live’ web cam is ‘live again (14:07) 🙂 Its looking a bit wild there today. Some work is going on but I can’t tell if its the pathway or the wall – maybe the wind will blow the webcam across slightly so we can get a better look.

    • Wendy Middleton on Oct 29, 2013

Ask a stupid question and you get a stupid answer

I quite like a few silly answers and a bit of heated debate. It can be fairly amusing.

hi wendy, how much is a taxi from the airport and whats the weather like.

    • Wendy Middleton on Oct 30, 2013

Hi Ian – a taxi would be more expensive than a bus or if you walked and the weather is warmer than here (nr. Manchester) but cooler than in Perth (the Australian Perth). Hope that answers your question 🙂 x

Wendy with the web cam being frozen do you think I should pack a big coat

    • Wendy Middleton on Oct 30, 2013

Definitely Dave – you will also need your gloves, hat and scarf just in case.

It is a great forum, where people can ask questions and, equally, people can answer and give their spin. I see that as a bonus. I guess the key issue here is the quality of some of the questions that invoke the answers that are questionable. I have lost count of people asking the same old question – “what’s the weather like”, “cheapest booze / tobacco” and such like. It’s a really lovely island with the weather a heck of a lot better than in the UK and we all know that it is a good place to buy the evil weed. I just feel there is more to life than all of this.

hi wendy. how long do you think it would take to walk from the airport to sandsbeach. only got hand luggage. dont want it to be to hot. not like here near manchester

    • Wendy Middleton on Oct 31, 2013

To a sandy beach – oh, not far. There is one just near the airport 🙂

However for sandsbeach, formerly LBC, either jump out of the plane as you are flying over or just walk really quickly and it won’t take long.

Another option is just to swim round – did you think of that? If its a bit chilly for you, ask David where he got his fleece lined swimming trunks from so that you can pack some.

A few days ago a friend was inquiring about the Naturist beach in Lanzarote
“Are there men and women there?” he asked

    My answer was

“I can’t tell they’ve got no clothes on”.

    • H R H on Nov 02, 2013

Barry, The women are the ones giggling and the men are the ones with quiet thoughts
