Scratch card touts ?

Asked by: 4th July 2013

Hi all,

Just got back from PDC and was stopped by one of these guys giving scratch cards out, probably time share or a property points system.I have visited PDC many times over the last six years and is the first time i have noticed them around.I am disgusted that these people are now operating on this lovely island. What are your views?

    Hi,
I agree with you on this . Twice I have been to Tenerife and quite honestly I have found that if you give them just an ounce of yourself within five minutes your in a taxi and of on some timeshare brain washing experience which leaves you completely exhausted!! I am going to teguise in September and honestly it’s a real pain being hassled every night . I’m all for everyone making a living in the current climate especially but the ones I have had the displeasure of have been down right aggressive and rude! Hope the local councils put a stop to this.

We had this problem in 2010 & 2011,near the Coronas Play compex. Usual thing, get a scratch card, nothing on it, they they say ‘Have another’ and lo and behold your a winner, in our case a sony Camcorder, in order to claim the prize, you have to vist the shop, and thats where the hard sell begins, Needless to say, we decline gracefully!!

Hi Ian, were stopping at the Bluebay, it’s our first time stopping in Teguise as we have stayed at playa blanca before and it was lovely but we like to try a different resort and costa Teguise really appealed as we have two teenage kids who love the beach and activities but don’t like it mega hot so we thought that a nice breeze would be a good thing! Is this your first time to Teguise? The sands resort looks really nice I’m sure you will have a nice stay there.
