Hi. We’re flying out this week end for a week stay in Costa Teguise.  Should we be packing bikinis or winter woolies??

You need to look at the web cam on this site I haven’t seen any winter woollies being worn,
I am there over at xmas and I wont be taking any

I have been looking at the web cam daily and it does look ok at the moment. But the forecast does predict rain 🙁

Wendy. I just arrived back from Costa Teguise yesterday afternoon and I have to report that it was the best November weather I can remember. There was some cloud and a little rain at times but it soon cleared. The evenings were superb and short sleeve shirts were the order of the day. I even went in the sea twice and my bikini was much admired.

    • Wendy on Nov 17, 2014

Lets hope that the forecaster rain for next week is only going to be a light shower. Have you any photos of you in the sea with your bikini??? lol !!

      • Tom Iles on Nov 17, 2014

I have Wendy but I’m waiting on an offer from the Sun for page 3.

We went in November Last year the last week the day time temps were fine a bit windy at times and the sea was a little rough too, in the evening you did need a woolly as it was a little chilly, but looking so far at the weather its looking better that this time last year.

We were out there 5 weeks ago and it was very hot then

  4. Steve p on Nov 17, 2014

Must say I have been reading on Facebook that bad weather is on the way for this week

    • Wendy on Nov 17, 2014

Thanks for your comments. I did look at the forthcoming weather and it doesn’t look good. But saying that it could mean only a shower of rain. We were out there earlier this year in March and was surprised by the chilly wind we had. The first time in years that we had to wear long trousers and a hoodie.

I agree with Tom. We came back on Saturday an it was the best November weather we have had. Slight bit of rain but we would call it light drizzle. Hardly any wind, very warm nights. Lovely .

regarding the weather from wednesday through to next monday, it looks horrendous on

Oh hopefully the bad weather doesn’t last. I’m flying out next Friday!

    • Steve p on Nov 27, 2014

There is a Orange weather warning over the next few days

A lot of rain coming for Friday and Saturday, 27 & 40mm of it. Check www.eltiempo.es, a very good Spanish weather site.

  9. David myers on Nov 19, 2014

Your more than likely correct Nigel but what will those people do who say you can sun bathe every day of the year
There favourite saying just find a sheltered spot

We have been going in November now for about 5 years and can say the weather has been good during the day but quite cold at night, we also go in March and I think the weather is pretty much the same at both times of the year.

The weather forecast was correct. There was flooding in Arrecife yesterday and the schools were closed for two days. It is still warm but very murky with the promise of more storms to come over the next few days. The temperature on our terrace last night only dropped to 20 degrees and we are still sleeping with the windows open. I would recommend that you pack an umbrella just in case and perhaps something warm for the evenings but , no doubt , you will need your sun tan lotion and bathers. The sea is still reasonably warm and very inviting when the sun shines. Hope you have a nice holiday.

Thanks Kevin. And thanks to everyones responses. Looking forward to getting up at 4.00am in the morning come rain or shine for a lovely holiday. I’ve got my brolly to hand just in case.

  16. Steve p on Nov 27, 2014

  17. Claire D on Nov 27, 2014

I fly out tomorrow….. Hopefully it’s not too bad!

    • Steve p on Nov 27, 2014

Clare there is a Orange Weather warning for the next few days

  18. Wendy on Nov 27, 2014

Thanks for all your comments. This is our last day today and we had one good sunny day when we were able to go on the beach. All the rest have been mixed although not cold. Don’t think we will come so late in November again. Coming again in March. What’s the weather like in March ????? ………… Lol

  19. Steve p on Nov 27, 2014

Wendy we said we would not come as late as November again we are due to come back next October if not before I was told March can be like November,

We have been many times at different times of the year and so far the best has been May to October.

I have been in January and February, mainly to escape the UK winter, and it is generally lovely although cooler and a few bursts of rain. Infinitely better than the cold damp UK and that time of year. Much prefer Lanzarote between September and May – the summer months are way too hot and usually the UK summer is nice enough to enjoy. Depends what you are looking for I suppose……

  21. Steve p on Nov 28, 2014

This afternoon I was told there is now a red warning on the weather

  22. Steve p on Nov 28, 2014

Just heard that they have canceled tomorrow’s Lanzarote marathon due to the bad weather saying very strong winds forecast and rain

  23. Claire D on Nov 28, 2014

I was due to fly in at 1645 and have ended up in gran canaria as the plane couldn’t land due to the weather.

  24. David myers on Nov 29, 2014

Steve careful you could get banned from the site saying things like that
    Now where’s that sheltered spot

  25. Wendy on Nov 29, 2014

Well, this is now our second night in a hotel due to Ryan air delaying our flight home to Birmingham. It’s strange that other air lines are taking off. Hopefully 3rd time lucky tomorrow morning (Sunday) our flight will take off.

  26. RAY on Dec 01, 2014

Wendy, hope you are home now reading this.

  27. Tom Iles on Dec 01, 2014

Wendy, like Ray, I hope you are back safe and well. It sounded pretty dreadful over there. This is the problem with Ryanair, they are great when things run to schedule but when things go wrong they just don’t have the ground staff to deal with the situation. Or rather, they have the ground staff but they are only employed on an hourly basis to fit in with specific time slots.

  28. Wendy on Dec 01, 2014

Arrived home safe and well if not a little too late. Arrived back 3.15pm on Sunday. Only 2 days late. Looking forward to going back out there next March for 17 days …… with Ryanair 🙂

  29. David myers on Dec 02, 2014

Wendy did you pre book your seats with Ryanair
If not did you get seats to sit next to your family
I am flying out with them and heard lots of different things ?

    • Wendy on Dec 03, 2014

David, No we didn’t pre book our seats, we never have. Up to now we have been lucky and have never been spit up. But as my husband Jeff says its only a four hour flight he wouldn’t mind not sitting next to me. (I don’t know what he means by that??).

      • Tom Iles on Dec 04, 2014

Wendy. Try not having a Vindaloo the night before.
