29yrs ago i drove in lanzarote just after passing my test. hubby was driving. he almost knocked a cyclist off his bike.i remember the cyclist banging on the roof of the car
shouting,” you english, you english” so i feel alot safer when i do the driving. so craig the driving is real easy. over here we look to the right, over there we look to the left, the pedals are in the proper place, but the steering wheel is on the wrong side,(as del boy would say)you’ll have the hang of it before your out of the air port. the trip to player blanca takes 45 mins.be carefull if your traveling at night, there is’nt a street light to be seen. take care.

The island is small, Airport to Playa Blanca is around 30 minutes by car…

Going thru Femés is more interesting. Nice views. Used to drive it daily.

I drove to Playa Blanca last year. Its straight forward and takes about 45 mins. When you get to the outskirts of PB you will come to a roundabout with a petrol station on it, turn right for Faro Park. Check the the satellite map on this web site to familiarise yourself with directions.

.it’s the shortest way to player blanca.but you’ll have to stop at the cafe at thetop,to take in the lovely views down on to player blanca.

It is very easy to get round the whole island, have a look on youtube and search driving in Lanzarote as there are some good videos showing how to get round.

I tend to always stay in Playa Blanca. . The drive from the airport is normally 40 to 45 minutes and is pretty much a straight forward route. . Once you get into the right frame of mind for driving on the opposite side of the road then youl have it cracked !

My tip ( which sounds awful really , lol ) is to keep your passenger on the gutter side of the car, then you cant mess up too badly !

Be vigilant as you approach the Town of Yaiza ( which is beautiful by the way ) because the local police sometimes have the speed gun out !.. And im pretty sure you may have to pay the fine on the spot if caught.

Two ways Thru Yaiza… Around on the by-pass or straight through .. I tend to go straight though as the towns beautiful. … Some odd traffic islands to navigate but just take your time,,

Once in Playa Blanca turn right at the island with the garage ( As carole says in her reply ) and head out to Faro Park ,, ( The lighthouse end of the town ! )

    Hope this helps you
