David – Staying 5 mins from the square. Any bar except karaoke. Distance not a problem.

The Water Front, Cutty Sark and the Dolphin are all good pubs the Waterfront and the Cutty Sark both do good food if you want to eat never had food in the dolphin so can not comment but seeing the amount of people out side I would say its good too

Stewie, best times for a pub crawl,in the sun along cucharas beach,at night 8pm ,start off at the bulldog terrace bar in the small shopping area by the large hotel on the front.Gary the gooner will direct you to a good route back through to the square he closes about 9 pm.If you need an english meal tekkers will repair the damage. Then back to the square which is very lively on fridays and weekends. enjoy(say hello to gary for me from 1 eyed dave) :0)

Try Cactus Jack for a good drink up. This place is rated as one of the best around for drinking

You could try our bar the Red Lion, next to the exchange opposite Shang Hai Chinese, we have a massive music collection and sell Bottled Real Ales, malts and bourbons plus a big selection of spirits. We do have Karaoke on a Wednesday and a guitarist on a Monday but other nights are music requests. We also show horse racing Mon . Sat, loads of bars in the area for that potential pub crawl, enjoy

Thanks for your replies – Bulldog, Cutty Sark, Dolphin, Waterfront, Red Lion and Cactus Jacks sounds good before finishing up in the square !
