Marthawch. I think things will be reasonably quiet on the island in May but not in Costa Teguise. I’m going over at the beginning of May with some friends to celebrate a big 0 birthday (I’m not saying which one). I just hope the weather improves by then, it’s been dreadful for months.

We’ve been at the end of May a couple of times – I don’t think anywhere is particularly busy. At the end of May there are school holidays, so may be more children around.

    @ Tom
Hope you enjoy your birthday 🙂 and, don’t forget ‘the sun shines on the righteous’ 😉 There’ll be a heatwave in CT then?

Parts of Lanzarote will be busy around the 23rd of May due to the Lanzarote Ironman It does not affect CT but places like PDC and over at La Santa will be busy and roads to the North of the Island will be

I agree Steve. The weather is horrible, I’ve never known anything like it.

Thanks for your kind wishes Wendy, not sure about the righteous bit but I certainly hope there is a heatwave,

Been in May a few years ago – wasnt too busy but busy enough if that makes sense ?

Have to agree about the weather – although we go different places during the year – one of the good things about this site is looking at the web-cam when you come back – OR it used to be – the weather looks to have been dreadful for weeks.

We had two cloudy/some rain days out 11 in January and the rest were sun/cloud or sun – For those due to go – I’m sure it will break soon but November was bad as well

    Times they are a changin

Weather today quite cool but not at all cold, although some of the locals are well wrapped up it is still warm enough to wear short sleeves and shorts, for the hardy.

Jim to the locals it is cold when we were out there in October some of the locals then were saying the nights are getting colder yet we still sat out in shorts and short sleeves

I,m back in CT beginning of may.Its a perfect month for me,long sunny days and not too hot. Also its not over busy so you have no problem with long waits in restaurants and the staff serving are unstressed and happy to chat. For swimmers the sea is colder in this month, for warm seas sep and oct are better.

Holiday maker numbers are growing this year on previous years, and May tends to be quite busy in PDC, Playa Blanca is a bit hit and miss but still tends to be on the busy side, CT numbers tend to be growing each year and you will find that it is still very busy in bars in the Pueblo Marinero, and as Joe says Times are a changing.

I agree David best months for sea swim is Sept and October, but saying that we were staying at Club La Santa one July and went over to Arrieta for the day and found the sea very nice temp

And that’s was the day we found the delights of CT driving from Arrieta to PDC to dinner, even my partner who had been to Club La Santa as a swim coach for many years before had never been there, to this day we do not know how we came to drive in to CT but glad we did
