I hope this is not a serious question.

Read some of the questions and answers on here and then decide whether or not you think its safe.

My wife and I are in our early sixties and have walked home at 3.00am in the morning from a well known bar and have never felt Insecure. Perhaps the odd drink helps but we have never felt vulnerable in CTwhatever the time of day.

Safe? Absolutely. You can walk anywhere at any time without fear or menace.

Of course there is crime, but of a petty nature, theft from properties etc. Never a hint of violence encountered in all the years I have been holidaying in Lanzarote, never even heard of anyone encountering dangerous situations.

I have to say one of the safest places we have been. We have been 18 times and have not seen any issues. We stay in Costa Teguise but I don’t think it matters where you go on the island. Like someone else said there will be some crime like everywhere but we have no worries in Lanzarote.

Lanzarote is a very safe place to visit, the only problem i have seen is a danger to the contents of your wallet from certain shops and market traders selling fake goods !

Visited Lanzarote for over twenty years and never felt anything other than safe.
But I know a family who were there in the bad weather in November and the senior male of this family was mugged one evening and he did take a few punches not sure where abouts this happened
The other problem like anywhere else is opportunist burglars
If there was no crime there would be no need to hire a safe and they are available at all types of accommodation

Very safe place and have never felt threatened although never say never. A lot safer than the UK in my view. Plenty of police and civil guard in evidence which helps deter too.

We have been coming for years and have never felt threatened no matter what time of the day or night.
But last Sept friends told us that friends of theirs had been mugged on the same route that we take every night, We have been a bit more wary since and have indeed crossed the road if we notice someone walking behind us for a while.

Always feel safe there and like Fred says plenty of police and civil guard about I cant say I have not seen any drunkenness and fights about CT but the Lanzarote on a whole does not attract drunken groups of youngsters like parts of main land Spain,
Ok you get petty crime like theft but not seen or heard of and violent crime.

As DCH says only crime is to your wallet from certain shops and market traders selling fake goods

Been visiting Lanzarote for well over 20 yrs
Stayed at all the resorts in that time except C.T.as I am not keen
In all those years I have never seen a fight so Steve does this make CT the fight capital of Lanzarote

David, you have surprised me with your revelation that you have never stayed in ct. with all of the replies that you have made with regards to questions you have answered about this resort you have never ever stayed ( presumably only visited for a day) at costa tegusie I would have thought somebody that has replied too so many questions as you have about ct would have stayed there sometime. as you now are open about never ever stayed in this resort how can you inform interested parties about the good and bad. only visiting this resort you cannot pass judgement surely. I have visited pdc once for a 3 week holiday but would not consider advising potential holiday makers the good and bad points. but having visited ct for over 15 years I think that is different.
regarding the revelant question ” is lanzrote safe for tourists”. I agree with all of the answers above/ absolutely safe no problems at all

No its not the fight capital of the World never seen any trouble there what so ever

  11. David myers on Jan 11, 2015

Dave I have never hidden the fact I have not stayed in CT you must have missed those replies
I have been calling at CT for a lot longer than you have been a visitor but I still stand by what I have said previously its not my favourite resort but obviously lots do like it and that’s there choice good on them
I feel I am entitled to comment on CT as this site is called Secret Lanzarote not Secret Costa Teguise and I have spent time and money in CT and I have an opinion
Also your comment ( Absolutely safe no problem ) i wonder what the people who got mugged would say to that
But being honest I feel its one of the safest holiday destinations you can visit and I have never felt threatened

  12. David myers on Jan 12, 2015

Steve I was not serious when I asked if CT was the fight capital of Lanzarote
Also the way you worded your comment you say I cant say I have not seen any drunkenness and fights about CT (was it a slip of the pen)
