Is it warm enough to swim in April?

Asked by: 23rd March 2011

Hi,

We are going on Playa Blanca on April 7th for a week. Will the weather and the water be warm enough to swim in yet?

Thanks,

Fanny

Absolutely. If the pools are not heated then they will be pretty cold but just jump straight in and it will feel fine in about two minutes……..after the initial shock.

The sea here doesn’t drop below 18 degrees in the winter which is warmer than the sea in the UK in summer! It’s warm enough to swim in but may be cool to laze around in on an inflatable lilo 🙂

I am no hero but I was swimming in the sea in February this year…Not cold and certainly warmer than the unheated hotel pool…

we were in costa teg november-dec and the sea was suprisingly pleasant once you were in,the hotel pools are freezing until the summer when they warm up

we used to holiday in april all the time, the water in a non-heated pool will be cool but if its hot, it feels nice, just get straight in, dont fanny about just jump straight in, if u can get away with it, the best time for a dip would be an hour or 2 after the suns gone down, this allows the water to warm up all day that way. Enjoy

Totally agree with Sams take on this – “don’t fanny about , just jump in”. Like that comment.
