Your Passport must be current on the day you return.

My passport runs out 17th August and I just went for 2 weeks May 7th – 21st and had no problems with customs etc.

Thanks very much, we have been over 8 times but never so close to one of our kids passport running out. Some websites were saying it was 6 months as not in EU unlike spain.

You need to have 6 months left on your passport to be able to travel anywhere, not just Lanzarote. If not, you will need to replace your current passport and any time remaining will be transferred to your new passport.

Agree with Kath. You can renew your passport and have up to 9 months transferred to your new one

Thanks everyone, I have rang and was told as long as it was valid on day of return it was fine. I have time to get another one so will do that and get the remaining time added on. Thanks for all your help.

As long as the passport is valid for the whole trip you will have no problems Sorry Kath but the info you have given is just Wrong, also this is the case for the whole of spain!
