It all depends upon what you want to do, eat in or eat out and where you eat. If you stay on site and walk everywhere you of course spend less.We (2 of us) eat out in the evenings and in for lunch but we don’t drink a lot. We take £500 in Euros and make it last. Exchange rate is also a factor but that seems to be improving slightly

As a guide I would bring the weekly budget you have for eating at home and then add a bit in case you want to go out as well. If you have a car planned for the week, then shop at one of the larger supermarkets such as Eurospar and Hiperdino to stock up at the start of your holiday. Check to see what cooking facilities you have, not everywhere has an oven or grill, you may just have a hob and bbq so you can plan your meals.

Agree with Julkes as above that yo need to check the hotel facilities before doing your shop – eating out is also very reasonable.

we eat out all the time, brekky/ lunch and evening meals, breakfast in the bars is good value at 2-50 euros each. lunch is just sandwiches, and most evenings we eat at the chinese restaurants, all you can eat for 4-50 euros. we stay at costa teguise, and always self catering. so approx 20 euros per day on food and 20 on drink, wer not heavy drinkers.

We go self catering, we eat out breakfast, (sometimes lunch) and nice restaurants in the evening with the occasional cheap chinese, and drinks we spend around £200 – £250 per week each.

We went to Costa Teguise in October last year. We are a family of two adults and 14 and 11 year old kids. We spent about 700 euros. We ate brakfast in apartment and out for dinner and evening meals. Chinese is cheap at 5 euro all you an eat. If your on a budget stay away from the texmex restaurants as they are very expensive for what you get. Try the bars along the beach they are reasonable but not as cheap as the chinese. Plenty of choice in costa teguise. You ca get cheapbeer but yu willneed to look around. Try Bluebellsin the square. The scrum and tackle used to be cheapbut i thinkmit is closed now.
