It’s a long way on a camel Cian. I suggest either an organised coach trip or by car. If by car aim for the main Arrecife – Yaiza road and aim towards Yaiza. As you approach Yaiza follow the signs to Timanfaya. Get there early though as there can be very long queues

Would it be expensive in a taxi ? Are there any other places I could do the camel ride closer to puerto del Carmen ?

It would be expensive by taxi cheapest way if you don’t have a car is on one of the coaches trips.
As far as I know it’s the only place on the island you can do the camel ride

As Tom Says get there early or I have been told later in the afternoon when there are less queues, we went early morning even then was busy but was able to get in last time we was in Lanzarote and went that way the queues were back out in the main road

Don,t know about weather in April as we always go in November.
Pubs are easy.head for the main square where there is entertainment every night except Friday due to the market being on.Also bars on the front have live entertainment.
You will be spoilt for choice

Cian I have found the best way to get to Timanfaya is by car it takes about 15 to 20 minutes from PDC if you follow Toms directions its easy to find
You pay to park the car and that includes the coach trip round the mountain I think its good value
The only thing I can say is that on my most recent visits its been very quiet the coach was less than half full so I may have been lucky ?
    Camel ride is great
