Due to the harsh recession in spain, have shop prices e.g. Spar been reduced on food and drink?

It depends on which resort you are talking about. Prices tend to be higher in Playa Blanca than in PDC or CT.Hiperdino is now the lowest priced supermarket around, with the odd exception, as with most supermarkets.

Let me know where you are going and i might be able to give you a better idea.

take some food with you to pack ya case out, and on returning to the uk, fill the void with cigs and plonk. we take tea bags and coffee as well. it bulks the case out… the more you take, the more space you have on the way back. and saves you a few quid/euros buying the stuff over there.

With the average breakfast in town being 2euros, i would not worry too much about bringing food. They are also getting very keen on allowances going back, so unless you have a very late night flight back, i would not push it too much!
