Has anyone stayed (apart from David!) at the Galeon Playa ?

Asked by: 13th February 2015 , ,

We have stayed on a regular basis at the Coronas Playa, for a number of years. Sadly, the quality of the hotel has deteriorated, doesn’t really warrant 4 star rating now, and prices have gone up! We’ve poked our noses in various establishments on our previous visits, and think the Galeon Playa looks presentable. Would like to know what the food is like, and the best rooms to book. Glad we aren’t in Lanzarote at present! We have the webcam on every day, and seen very few decent days since last november – today no exception!

    I have.

We’ve been as a couple, family of three and group of 5 lots of times.

We’ve always been self-catering so cannot comment about the food. There are so many lovely places to eat in CT with such a variety of menus as you probably know.

We prefer the rooms overlooking Playa Jabillo, however other people may not like one on that side because the main road is also there and the shops are below. Neither are particularly noisy. You may prefer a room by the kiddies area if you need to be up and down to your room all day.

Have a look on their Facebook page as they have lots of photos of activities, food, location etc.

Give it a try Jackie …..

Jackie we have stayed at the Galeon Playa twice and found it very nice its near to beach shops and many pubs and restaurants, we have done both self catering and bed and breakfast, the breakfast meals are very good plenty of choice full English to continental cereals and fresh fruit etc,

never tried the evening meals there as we like to go out to the many bars and restaurant’s in the area, during the day the pool bars sells food which we have had and is good, the rooms are basic but very nice and clean, cleaners come in most days in fact the whole site is kept very well cleaned and maintained, the rooms to book depend on if you want sea views or Pool views ground floor rooms, we have only ever had ground floor rooms one year we looked over the main pool last year over the children’s play area both rooms were fine for us.
The staff are very friendly and helpful at all times the bar has entertainment 6 nights a week.

Stay clear of the side facing the harbour. Nice views, but when the wind gets up it can get a bit noisy and draughty. The food and service was good although not a lot of choice. Drinks, especially spirits were expensive. Try for a room overlooking Jabillo beach. Usually quiet and sunny..

we have stayed there 5 times. We prefer block 9 or 10, the apartments are more modern and quite well maintained. We have not eaten in the complex as we always go self catering as there are so many great place to eat in Costa Teguise and that includes breakfast.

We like the Galleon playa for breakfast. It,s not the cheapest but it is a buffet (eat as much as you like)from a good selection of cereals, meat, fruit juice, yogurts etc.etc.Cost from memory is around 6 euros but you will not require much for lunch.
