Ssteve, If you want to push the boat out, there are two restaurants I would recommend . El Navarro in costa teguise. Or my favourite is La Cabana in Macher. You will need to book well in advance if you decide to try but I promise you will not be disappointed with th food and service. Hope you have a nice birthday celebration.

cheers kev will look at your choices

My favourite restaurant for a romantic meal is El Castillo which is situated beneath the Castillo de San Jose Museum in Arrecife. It does not look too inspiring in the daytime as it overlooks the dock area but at night with the lights twinkling on the water it takes some beating. It can lack atmosphere if not too many people there but still worth a visit.

I second El Navarro, best restaurant on the island by far. Oscars across the road from there is also very good.

La Cabana in Macher every time for me – well worth the trip from CT

thank you will look at the web site steve

My favourite on the Island is a restaurant called VerdeMar in the village of La Santa, the only thing it a long way to go from Costa Teguise, but if your ever over that part of Lanzarote well worth a visit.

Would definitely recommend Oscars or Montmatre in CT, have used both for special birthdays and have not been disappointed. Enjoy!!

Hi Steve , I’ve been to all the above restaurants apart from the one in la Santa and arrecife and I can assure you that the two restaurants that I have suggested are better than others mentioned on this web site. I know that Montmartre is good but I have found the service at Oscars to be questionable. I cannot comment on the other restaurants but if you are in ct and you do not want to go out in a taxi then go to Navarro , but if you want to push the boat out go to la cabana. You will not be disappointed . the choice is yours. Have a nice meal.I would very much like to know where you go and how you get on. Please feed back.

Agree that the food at Navarro is good but for something special feel that it lacks atmosphere (dreadful lighting!!). The overall ambience/decor is much much better at either Oscars or Montmatre, best try all three and give us your feedback!! Whatever, sure you will have a great night.

Hi there, I don’t usually comment on here but had to on this occasion. Please do not go to Montmartre I’m surprised that place is still open! The last time I went there the food was not good at all then on our way out of the restaurant we quickly went to the toilet before leaving and you can see inside the kitchen where there was cockroaches running everywhere! I felt absolutely sick that I had just eaten at this restaurant!! Navarro is top class they have daily specials where the food and service is fantastic!! The other two restaurants to try is Los Aljibes which is past the golf course in CT fantastic restaurant. If you want tapas with a twist then try Bastro in Nazaret this is a 15 min taxi ride from CT well worth a visit!

La Jordana in Costa Teguise. Superb food and impeccable service. We have been going there since it opened – probably around late eighties – and have never been disappointed. Also Restaurant Nina is excellent. A bit different from the norm. I’ve probably had everything on the menu at one time or another and it is all good. The rolled meringue is to die for.
