Go on the top of vulcano?

Asked by: 27th January 2011

Of course we will visit Timanfaya, both by bus and on walking tour booked in the parc… But still, would like to go on the top of one of vulcanoes. Is it possible? Monte Corona? Caldera Blanca? Any other? Doesn’t need to be big… Simply, I would love to experience it – but the walk can’t take all day, and can’t be very demanding, as my partner had leg broken year ago and still hiking very high for half a day may be a problem… As well as with my super fit 8-years old girl; she may hike for 12 hours without stop phisically, but patience isn’t her strongest point. So, something easier, if it exists?

Imo what makes the island beautiful is the possibility to hike practically everywhere. I did Monte Corona from Ye, Famafa cliff and the couple of others. I was with two kids – 7 and 4 y.o. It took 2-3 hours top and down. The island is full of paths and you can spend the whole day hiking. We did the top in the midday and afternoon on the beach.
I’m a mountain lover and the views in Lanzarote are amazing! And you hardly see anybody on the way.
I’ve just discovered this island – was there at the beginning of Feb 2011 and will go there back soon for sure. There were three days of strong winds though but the rest of time was beautiful and quiet.
