Getting about in Costa Teguise ?

Asked by: 26th August 2014

Hi all, we are heading to CT next Monday and having looked at maps to get my bearings, I am slightly worried that everything seems so spread out. Are there certain places where there are plenty of bars/restaurants close to each other? We are staying at Vitalclass and there doesn’t seem to be a lot near it so we will probably be using a lot of taxis. Are there any particular places to ask for?

Thanks in advance

Val

Vitalclass is about 10-15 min by walk from some restaurants like Montmartre, beach Playa Bastian, and some supermarkets/bars.

To go to the main beach/area of the resort, its around 30-45 min. by walk.

Taxis are very cheap,i would stroll to the main areas, playa bastian and costa teguise and use taxis for the return at night.

As the guys have indicated you are on the very outskirts of Costa Teguise.

The Playa Bastian area of town is within a reasonable walking distance with a few bars and restaurants. The main resort is another 20mins walk away.

A taxi will cost you about 5 euros into town. Ask for the square (real name Pueblo Marinero Square) and you can explore from there.

We stayed at the Tuscan a while ago. It does seem a long way when you look on the map, but have a gentle stroll around and, as David Charles Hind suggests, get a taxi back in the evening. You’ll soon find your way around.

If you cut through to Playa Bastian, you will find a block paved very wide pathway which meanders alongside the sea and leads you to some of the beaches and shopping/eating places. It is a nice surface for cyclists, pushchairs and wheelchairs – it was no more than a cinder pathway at one time but now its a very busy thoroughfare and is lit along the route.

Have a lovely time – will this be the first visit of many???? I don’t think its possible to go just once 🙂

Thanks for your replies. Very helpful. Wendy, we have been to Puerto del Carmen a few years ago, but this will be our first time to Teguise, can’t wait!

David, for 22 minutes I thought I was back in CT, then I realised I still have 5 weeks to go, I suppose that will still go quickly though, all of the family cannot wait now
