I would like to go to Famara Beach, but I heard its dangerous. How to get there ? Lifeguards there ?

Jimmy you did hear correct Famara can be dangerous
Famara Beach is not really a beach for swimming its more a surfing beach ok it is a nice beach with golden sand that side of the Island the waves are much stronger than say Costa Teguise and there can be strong under currents too,
if I remember correct there are no lifeguards there.
so if your planning to swim I would say you need to be a strong swimmer,
Its easy to drive there but if not there is a bus from Costa Teguise number 31 but there limited only 4 Mon to Fri 6 on Sat and Sun so check time tables before you leave

We were there last September, as I recall there was a Lifeguard, who patrolled the beach and red flagged if he thought it was dangerous. I agree with Jimmy, Great for surfing but not a place for the average swimmer (like me lol)

Ok there is a lifeguard there then was not sure as been a few years since we went to the beach there, used to go there Surfing when we stayed at Club La Santa

I would definitely not try swimming at Famara unless you are a really strong swimmer. I nearly drowned there a few years ago. One moment I was touching the sea bed and the next I was out of my depth and the current was taking me further out.

Sadly there have been a few people drowned in the last few years at Famara
