Yes. It comes from desalination plants, not out of the sewers. I have been going to Lanzarote for over forty years and never, ever suffered from drinking the water.

I’m with you EJPM I have made tea with it once lots of scum floating on top I only drink bottled water when there
David, that’s probably because you insist on going to Playa Blanca. The water in Costa Teguise is fine.
Marian Walker on May 25, 2015
we have been going to Costa Teguise for many years and would never drink the water.
Why not Marian?

For 30 odd years I have used tap water for cleaning my teeth and tea/coffee but usually drink bottled. Having said that, I have used tap water for drinking and have never had a problem. As Tom says it does not come from the sewers. My husband won’t drink it though.
The other thing you need to way up is the condition of the plumbing in the place you stay not exactly up to the UK standards keep clear you could end up like Tom

Happy, fit and healthy and being mistaken for George Clooney ( 1 out of 4 is not bad)

One of the reasons is there can be a smell from the water which I would say is a concern. we would rather be safe than sorry and feel ill and spoil our holiday. However if you have been drinking the tap water and been ok that you must feel comfortable with it.

all ways buy bottled water to drink but we do you the tap water for teas and coffee with out any problems
