You are right, all Europe is cooler these last weeks, so also Canaries… but you still can sunbath at pool when its sunny and dont freeze. For evenings, better to have warm clothes )

Thanks for the reply, I’m usually there at this time of year enjoying mid- twenties! Arriving middle of March so hopefully, temps will have picked up.

We have just come back from Lanzarote on the 11th Feb. Weather was very dissappointing – cloudy and quite cold. We had to wear jumpers during the day and a jacket & long trousers in the evening. The wind chill facture was quite something! Take a thick tracksuit and plenty of warm layers as it was very cold in the evening.

Thanks Den, I think that yours is the definitive reply!

looks to be getting warmer next week

In my experience weather forecasts on the internet always show a few degrees cooler than it actually is when your on holiday, my last 4 holidays have definately proven this theory haha I think it is the wind which is making it feel cold at the moment so hopefully if u can get a nice sheltered spot around the hotel pool you should be okay. We are off to Costa Teguise on Thursday so fingers crossed!

Thanks Kayla, unfortunately, the airport gives actual conditions and not a forecast. For instance, the actual temperature at noon today – 17degs. This could be because the airport is exposed to the wind?

  4. Kayla on Feb 14, 2012

Oh That’s a shame! But yes hopefully just because so open and exposed to wind at airport

Hope it improves for you. You can get the airport temps, wind speed and direction and cloud cover at www.plane-mad.com. Just enter the airport of your choice and you will be able to access half-hourly weather updates. Safe journey!

We are usually there this time of year but due to my niece now being in school we have to go end of March, so glad this year as the weather does not seem as good as usual, so looking forward to March/April

Kayla your best just looking at the live web cam forget forecast there all different and not accurate and dont forget its still the winter months any sun and warmth are a bonus i am there next week but i ignore the forecast because they are hit and miss

    • Roy Stevenson on Feb 14, 2012

Can I just repeat that info from airport is not a forecast it is ‘actual’ weather status updated half-hourly so the temperature, barometric pressure, wind speed and direction and cloud cover are correct at the time of reporting by the airport met officer.

Lanzarote is very “strange” island when it comes to weather )

You can have clouds and little rain in Costa Teguise, when people have great sun in Playa Blanca, or reverse…

Same for the wind, I saw day with +50 km/h in Famara while Costa Teguise had no wind at all…

The airport data is good if your hotel is around the airport area : matagorda.

Watch it John you will upset everyone being honest, most people put a 1 in front

  12. john allen on Feb 14, 2012

It was only 15c in the house,so putting a 1 in front of the 9c makes a lot of sense ??

definitely having the coldest winter that i have known, but i suppose our blood thins when we live hear so probably feels colder and as the houses are designed to keep the heat out ….. normally!! it can feel colder indoors than out! keep in the sunshine during the day and put your coat on at night lol
