Cheap flights to Lanzarote from Stansted or Luton ?

Asked by: 22nd March 2012 ,

Hi All,We’ve found a lovely privately owned place to rent in Costa Teguise and paid an extortionate amount to fly to Lanzarote in February ( for the two of us totalled just short of £500 for a week), we’ve tried the online search engines and find them a minefield if you don’t get it right. Can anyone suggest an easy site that can help us find and book cheap flights? Thanks in advanceSteve & Cathy

Steve/Cathy. hi, we had a similar problem last year trying to look at every website going and getting very confused in the end with which was the best deal. In the end we found a website called Travel Republic, here you can search and see every flight that goes from your airport / dates selection . the prices are also the same as you were booking direct with the airlines. they also do some deals where you just pay a deposit and nearer the time, pay the remainder. just like when you book a normasl holiday. go to this web address:=

    http://www.travelrepublic.co.uk/

let me know how you get on
    thanks

we use thomas cook online, each week can be diff prices, so keep checking.
we booked for mid april, 70quid each going out but comming back was 104quid. thats from newcastle. total 348quid also booked our hotel from trivago [as seen on tv] for 140quid, so a holiday for 2ppl 1 week under 500quid.

Thats a great deal Gordon wish they could do the same price in school holidays

aye, its a rip off in the holidays. you can double, even triple the prices. some ppl have to take hols when factories close down for the summer, wer lucky as wer both pretty flexible and can go at the drop of a hat.

Have a look at Monarch flights. We go from Manchester but I’m sure they go from your end as well. For the past 6 or 7 years they have been the cheapest for us at various times of year. The latest ones we have booked are for 3 weeks in July which were £160 return.

Yes Monarch flights do go from Luton, like most airlines the earlier you book the better the deal. www.skyscanner.net is a good comparison site, you can search for flights by country or your local airport and they give you the best prices from all the major airlines. Also there is a new service starting on the 28th, it`s being run by Iberia airlines, further details will be on their website then.

    Hi,

As mentioned Travelrepublic is a good site not only for flights but also for accommodation searching.

Skyscanner is the best for finding the flights – as they include low cost airlines (ie Ryanair, Easyjet, Jet2) amongst their results, where some other flight search engines dont include these airlines.

To put it in a nutshell, if you only look at Monarch or Thomas Cook then they will only offer you their own airlines results, which can be expensive compared to Ryanair etc.

If you want to combine cheap accommodation with the cheap flights then look on Alpharooms.

I used to own a travel website (365travel) which i sold many years ago and learned a lot about airlines and hotels whilst running the site.

Have a great holiday, Lanzarote is a fab island.
