Can anyone suggest a good firm for airport transfers?

Asked by: 13th February 2011 ,

Travelling to Lanzarote in July, 2 adults, 1 teenager and 1 child, have booked with Travel Republic but decided not to book transfers.  Is it easy and cheaper to book transfers prior to travel or just get a taxi when we arrive?  We were there last year and paid for transfers because we didn’t realise how close the airport is to Costa Teguise.  Staying at Los Zocos in Costa Teguise.

Last year we used lastminute-transfer for the first time. It cost 40 euros for the return trip (airport to Costa Teguise, and back again going home) for 6 of us. We had our own minibus (no sharing). The driver was great, met us at the airport with our name on his board, loaded everything onto the minibus for us, and when we got to our apartments he unloaded everything and took all the luggage to the door or our apartments (including up a flight of stairs).

We booked online here a few months before our holiday, and didn’t have to pay anything up front – just paid in euros when he collected us. When it came to our journey back to the airport going home, the minibus turned up on the dot at the time booked.

Also, the added bonus was he didn’t drive like he was practicing for the Spanish Grand Prix, which pleased my elderly parents immensely !

Needless to say, I’ve booked them again for our trip this summer.

Los Zocos is great for the kids…they will really enjoy it….and the food isnt bad at all there…you can do all inclusive when you get there and it’s very reasonable for the choice and quality….I couldn’t do more than a week all inc, so we ate out at a couple of places across the road in cucharas centre….nice potatoes in Canarian sauce…this green pesto type sauce…hmm….We’re going to PDC on sunday….
