Bob don’t know the source of your info. but not sure it’s correct.

Blue’s Bar is the old Scots and Wry and there have been posts on here before with this rumour but nobody seems to be able to confirm if it’s true.

Six weeks ago when I was there, the cleaners were in and they posted a new sign on the windows saying lease for sale. So certainly at that point no one had taken up this lease.

Maybe someone has more up to date info. ?

Frank-Nothing like getting the info from the horses mouth.I have just spent 10 days in C.T and met up with Gary and Jill more than twice. They have bought the place freehold and should take over inn the next couple of days.

Blu Bar has been taken over by one of the bar men from the Waterfront ( not sure of his name small person with glasses). it was open when we were there at the start of this month although to be honest he was the only person in the place. The Highlander Bar is lovely now very inviting and staff nice.

I don,t know where all the info comes from but Gary and Jill have definately taken the place over (See my reply above to Frank).Unfortunately did not like the new look Highlander although it is obvious that a lot of money has been spent.Hope they do ok but it is probably overdone for the situation it is in and not in keeping with the surrounding bars

When we were there this month it was opened and it was most certainly one of the bar man for the waterfront, one of the staff told us that he had taken it over and that some of them had went round for a night to celebrate, perhaps it has not worked out for him which would not suprise me as it was empty on the nights we passed and did not look very inviting.

Came back on the 21st and met up with Gary in the Square. He said he had bought the freehold on Scots and Wry and hoped to get going very quickly – and perhaps the little guy with the glasses that is being mentioned is the new DJ – Decker – Gary and Jill been busy doing up their abode in Lanzarote and are getting back into it again. We also went to the Highlander a couple of times – it is very different to how it used to be – I admit I really enjoyed the previous atmosphere but the new team are very friendly and have different entertainment on each night –

We were in Costa Teguise 7th March and the staff in the Waterfront said he had taken it over, perhaps it did not work for him. Nobody seems to be able to make a go of it which is a shame as we had many a good night when it was Scot & Wry. Good luck to the new owners.

Dougie from the waterfront and his wife have owned the freehold on the Scots and Wry for many years although chose to lease it out . Gary and Jill have now bought the freehold ( straight from their mouths a while ago and was told to keep it on the downlow until it was signed and sealed ) and will be opening soon
