    Hi,
I always stay at the Oasis Lanz Hotel, their apts aren’t luxurious, but clean and adequate. Location is really central so you don’t have to hire a car. Per night only 28 euros. Their web is grandholidaysclub.com. All reception staff speak perfect English, the most helpful lady is called Eva and she works after 4pm most days. Jan

It can depend on a number of things, how central you`d like to be, do you need a kids club, most importantly is probably your budget. I`ve always found Sands Beach to be one of the best but it is probably cheaper to book it direct through an owner than directly with the hotel. More centrally Oasislanz is a lot cheaper but the accomodation is not as good as Sands but better than others in the resort.

oasis lanz is fine and really central for everything

You cant go wrong with the “celeste”. They are perfectly situated and very cheap.Clean but basic 8/10.

I’ve stayed in loads and no matter where you book you’ll be OK so don’t worry.

For good basic SC Appartment in centre of town – Oasis Lanz, Galleon, and Nazaret are all good and I’ve stayed in all of them.

If you are loaded and want something a bit upmarket try the Lanzarote Gardens – 10 min walk.

Just beside this is Los Zocos which is great for families with young children or El Trebol and the Ficus.

At the budget end are Oceana and Blue Sea in town and Guarpo and Molino de Gracia in Plata Bastian (15min walk).

As Ian says it depends on what you want and what you want to pay – but hope this helps a bit.

Have you thought about going A I ? This could work out to be a better and cheaper bet than S C . Plenty of food and drink , just help yourself to it.

  7. michael watson on Nov 17, 2012

HRH forgot to add–if you like eating the same bland food every day and drinking the equivalent of gnats urine out of plastic mini beakers. Stick to sc, eat what you want , drink what you want and enjoy the freedom of the island.

  8. H R H on Nov 17, 2012

Trust Michael Watson to lower the tone . gnats urine?? what a vivid imagination.

Dunno about most of you but I tire of the constant AI versus self catering carping. Get over it. Both are fine for people with different needs and budgets. Can’t we please have a proper discussion on points raised without this please?

  10. michael watson on Nov 17, 2012

    NO WE CANNOT.

  11. H R H on Nov 17, 2012

Fred ,theres your answer from Michael Watson . A I will always be a thorn in the side of the S C believers and vice versa. Be aware everyone Michael Watson is not a person to tangle with over this point. He has his views and will argue them till kingdom come. Just don’t upset him anymore !! please be nice to him in your replies

  12. anne broadbent on Nov 17, 2012

That Watson is a fool big time and needs a good slap !!

  13. michael watson on Nov 18, 2012

Just count the “likes” HRH.The people have spoken.

  14. Fred on Nov 18, 2012

    Oh dear….

  15. David myers on Nov 18, 2012

Michaeal i think it would be better to count bums on seats in the bars and restaurants than likes on this site whether people are choosing AI or SC they dont seem to be spending there money.

  16. michael watson on Nov 18, 2012

Ann Broadbean, why am i a fool and why do i need a slap ? Why ask a question and then deride the answers you get. Everyone is entitled to their opinion even those of the female gender.

  17. H R H on Nov 18, 2012

Michael Watson there is always a third option and that is to make yourself a picnic and eat it on the beach, inbetween getting a good slap from Ann Broadbent LOL

  18. Fred on Nov 18, 2012

Oh my aching sides… Still chuckling after two hours

Have stayed at Oasis Lanz a few times in fact going this week. Oceano is fine also although they are studios. Have stayed at ficus although the rooms are ok the drink is awful so if you are thinking on A/I I would five the Ficus a miss. Also Galleon Playa ok if you get the rooms at the back found the older rooms much in need of upgrade.

Have been going to Costa Tequise for the last 19 years 2- 3 times a year, sometimes we have gone SC sometimes AI for SC i would recommend oasis lanz if you want to be near everything as for quality SC the Sol apartments are fantastic all just been refurbished excellent staff they cant do enough for you, memory foam deep mattresses, and large flat screen tvs spot on we were there september and loved it, just with having mobility problems we have decided to go back up to oasis in feb as its nearer to all the bars and restaurants that we use. If going AI i would def recommend Tequise player all the rooms have a sea view food is pretty good too (for ai) worth every penny pool area nice and big with access straight onto jabillio beach!

Stayed at the El Guarapo and the Oceano over the last 2 months and they have been fantastic. The El Guarapo is a 15min walk to the square and all the attractions or the Oceano is 2mins and has Mo and Susanna who run the pool bar and make everyone very very welcome (Also do a meet and greet BBQ every Tuesday night) plent of bars and restaurants to eat in at great prices plus cheep beer lol A/I is fine but why not give the SC a chance and get out and meet people you will not be disappointed.

Oh and hire a car it’s fantastic to drive there also

my wife and i have looked at staying at the El Guarapo but have been put off by the number of reviews saying that the complex has a large number of cats on it.we are not cat lovers.can you advise.
    many thanks

  24. Stephen Andrew Mallon on Nov 27, 2012

    Hi Paul,

Yep there are a few cats there but they dont bother you. We use it as a base for getting around as they are lovely apartments but to be honest we dont eat or drink there. Lovely place so dont be put off by a few moggies lol
