cant dissagree with you Steve because the web cam shows the sunny weather, its just when we are being told its sunny and the web cam shows lots of cloud thats when i dissagree, also sun shine at 9.30am is still 2hrs plus after sun rise i hate to miss a nice sun rise the mornings the best time of the day.

even when it is cloudy there though it is still very hot. We went in June 2 years ago and we had a suncream woman come round every day to our pool and one day it has been cloudy all day the day before but very hot and the next day a man went up to the suncream woman asking for help because he had bad sunburn and that is because he had not put cream on the day before when it was cloudy so you still have to be careful. the clouds are not as thick as they can be in the UK..

My husband got sun-stroke when it was cloudy as he still got burnt.

I agree it is nice when it is sunny but at least it is sunny at the moment.

Ive had mixed weather over the years,,, both cloudy & blazing sunshine, but its never stopped me enjoying my holiday… Its just what it is ,, “The Weather” ! lol

Having said all that , , The very best weather i ever had was the very first time i visited Lanz in 1983 and copped for two weeks of blazing hot sunny days with cloudless skys !

Have always had both cloud and sun on every holiday since.. The only thing i will say is that if cloudy, sometimes it tends to hang in the sky for a few days before the sun returns which is very frustrating..
Just one of those things !

Paul same here best weather i ever had was in the the 80s no cloud for 2 weeks, and i too agree with Kath its a lot nicer when the sun shows its face blue sky is what we want

Sam why Sado?? I just stated that I don’t like clouds and Lanza seems to get plenty. Go anywhere in Europe in summertime IE mainland Spain, South France, Italy and you get almost garunteed Sunshine. There’s no need to be rude.

    Well put Peter

    I have been to Ibiza

I have been to Ibiza in August and it rained for 2 weeks so a bit of cloud is not bad!!!

If you think about it logically. . . We are all having a debate about somthing that none of us or anybody else has any control over ! lol . . . Which makes the whole thing quite daft really !

Its not true to say that its always cloudy in lanz until after lunch … If thats the experience Peter has had then its quite understandable that he thinks that way .. On the other hand i also doubt very much that you can guarantee sunshine in the summer in spain , france and Italy. . . In fact ive had experiences in those countrys of mixed weather too…

The fact is ,,, you can catch for both good and bad weather ! ,, Its just the way it is ! We all pay our money and we all take the chance and hope the weather will be good when we go away …. If we cop for some bad weather its a bummer i know ,,and weve every right to feel disapointed having spent hard earned cash on a break,,, but the other side of the coin is that we catch for some nice relaxing hot rays !

Either way the change of pace and location beats sitting at home !

Totally agree with you Paul!!! I work hard as a nurse, and i come to Lanzarote to completely switch off, relax and become ‘me’ again…I’ve made some lovely friends whilst out there, and of course having 11 hours of sun a day is a bonus, but for me it’s all about the place, the wonderful people and the slower pace of life.
Only a week to go and we shall be there! can’t wait.

Well said Paul and Sarah. I can’t believe how much effort people put in to analysing the weather. I’ve just come back from three weeks over there and it was fabulous. Most days were cloudy in the morning for a few hours but it didn’t matter a bit. It was still hot and the afternoons were very sunny. As you say, a change from home, great lifestyle, great location -and some fantastic seafood.

Thanks for that Kitty…glad to know there are like-minded people out there! On my way out there on Thurs for 17 days…wish it was for longer…in fact wish it was a one way ticket!! Lol….one day eh!

I am very jealous. Only been back 4 days but it seems like for ever since I was there. Searching for some flights now for my next trip. Enjoy your hols.

Be careful for what you wish for Sarah. . . LOL , , I know of someone who went out there for a holiday and whilst there purchased a villa by way of a deposit on his credit card then sorted out the mortgage locally and actually never came back !….lol

He set up a villa management company to generate income ,,,Rents his old house out in the UK and has settled in PB with his wife. . . although i think she was kind of reluctant with all the snap quick decisions they made early on , but they just ” went for it” .. so to speak.

I now rent a villa from the same guy on all my holidays ,,,

The thing is, , as soon as you move to lanz or for that matter anywhere overseas it stops being a holiday as you have to work to support yourself .( so i guess theres a trade off ! ), unless of course your in the lucky position to retire out there ! ,,, Now thats different again !

I know my friend who moved there works really hard, but good luck to him,,, At least hes working in a nice warm environment and in the wnter months it sure beats the rain and the cold and frost back in the UK…

Thanks Kitty…I know what you mean..every time i go out there,as soon as i get back,i’m already looking and booking my next trip!! Lol. I have already got another week booked for November..bit of winter sun before Xmas…how bad am I ?
