£941.00 from manchester to lanzarote, 7th Feb, for 2 weeks, Monarch ?

Asked by: 22nd January 2013

This is for 2 people, no seating reserved, just luggage.

This is supposed to be a budget airline, i can got to australia on a round trip with Virgin Atlantic, for a couple of hundred pounds extra.

Sorry Monarch, i would not give you my money, what is so special about the 7th Feb, it is not even half term.

That seems a hell of a price for 2 people. I have booked 3 returns on Aug 8th with Jet2 from Glasgow and it cost less than £850. This price includes reserved seating and luggage.

Ryanair from East Midlands 5th to 19th February £273 for two people – bit different to £941 !!

Larry, just looked at travel republic and skyscanners and you can get a flight from manchester to lanzarote for 2 weeks on the dates you mentioned with thompsons for £654 including hold luggage for 2 people. nice early morning flight as well. dont know why the flights are so expensive at this time of the year.

We booked hols 18 weeks prior to departure and it cost £1300 for four passengers with Thompson flights (Gatwick) and 11 nights self-catering accommodation in Costa Teguise. I have just checked and the holiday now costs over £2072. I have lost faith in getting a ‘late deal’ having lost out a couple of times. Incidentally, it would have cost me an extra £500’ish to fly from Newcastle, crazy!

I forgot to say we go on 10th Feb and this includes most of the school holiday week.

It`s not just Monarch charging these prices, i`ve been looking for the last week in May, school holidays, Easy jet is £650 return per person and Ryanair are £265 per person just for the return from Lanzarote.

Here is a tip to save money!
Try booking 2 single flights price it up with different airlines and if you can be flexible on dates you will save money.
The travel supermarket site enables you to do this and will quote the best prices!

Mark, skyscanners also do this, that is where i got the thompsons flight from as per my answer above at £654, this was the cheapest advertised. the mixed flights as you say were more expensive
